At Life In Harmony, we do not have a dedicated team for accounting and administration, but we do have people who voluntarily work to supervise the accounting. This preliminary report details expenses incurred by Life In Harmony during 2023-2024, classified into three main sections: Construction, Equipment, and Agriculture. The aim is to provide transparency and a comprehensive breakdown of spending, supporting the organization’s initiatives to establish essential facilities in Gomta, Gujarat, India, and make necessary improvements.

Introduction

Life In Harmony is a small newborn NGO dedicated to creating spaces of peace and harmony. We work to assist vulnerable people, focusing on children and their families. Our mission is to ensure access to basic needs, promote self and mutual care, and provide support through connection with nature and Ayurvedic medicine. This preliminary transparency report presents the 2023-2024 expenditures, detailing how funds have been used to fulfill our mission.

The purpose of this report is to provide a clear and complete description of the use of funds received by Life In Harmony. We believe transparency is key to building trust with our donors, volunteers, and beneficiaries. Below is a breakdown of how funds were used across various areas to establish infrastructure, support agricultural operations, and ensure the well-being of those we serve.

Facilities Built

During 2023-2024, key construction projects were completed on our 8,000 m² land in Gomta, including:

  • Five rooms with attached bathrooms: Two large rooms and three smaller rooms, each equipped with a separate shower and toilet, providing privacy and comfort for residents and staff, as well as storage spaces. A total of ~932 m² was built to accommodate residents and volunteers.
  • A Common Kitchen: Built to cater to all residents, volunteers, and program participants.
  • Four communal bathrooms: Additional facilities to improve sanitation infrastructure and provide easy access for all users.
  • Underground water tank with a capacity of 27,000 liters: Ensures a continuous water supply for daily activities and community needs, especially during the dry season.
  • Reconstruction of the Dom House: Improved accommodations and community space in a new ~260 m² structure.

This section focuses on expenses related to building facilities and infrastructure utilized by Life In Harmony in Gomta, Gujarat, India.

  1. Cement and Building Materials
    • 940 cement bags, iron rods, water tank setup: ₹756,200
      • These materials were essential for the construction and renovation of the facilities.
    • 4,050 stone blocks: ₹273,500
      • The stone blocks were primarily used for the construction of foundations and walls.
    • Marble: ₹126,000
      • Used for lining and enhancing common areas.
    • 243 tons of construction sand: ₹196,500
      • The sand was used for cement mixing and other masonry work.
  2. Electrical Materials and Installations
    • Electrical materials (fans, light tubes, cables, switches, pipes): ₹123,000
      • These materials enabled proper electrification of the new constructions.
  3. Doors, Windows, and Frames
    • Bathroom windows and doors, sliding door: ₹85,000
      • These items were used to improve the security and functionality of the facilities.
    • Wooden doors: ₹27,000
      • Wooden doors were installed to separate spaces.
    • Cement door frames: ₹17,500
      • Cement frames were built to ensure door durability.

      • The equipment was needed to level the land before construction.
