India is a place that welcomes you, regardless of your belief, your race; it receives you with open arms, gifts you its culture, its wisdom, its kindness; it embraces you to help you recognize yourself, reconnect with Life, learn Yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, and enjoy its landscapes, colors, and aromas.
India teaches us what truly matters—valuing family, home, and community, understanding who we truly are, and enjoying every small thing, recognizing that we are just passing through. India never says “no,” “I can’t,” “I don’t have time,” “I’m busy,” “it’s not the right time,” “I’m preoccupied with other things.”
Now, India is going through very tough times. Many human beings are dying on the streets; there aren’t enough doctors or oxygen. There is pain, death, fear… The people there also need our help.
India cries out for “more help!” And now is precisely when we have the opportunity to give back everything that Mother India gave us. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t have the chance to visit; surely you have something from India at home—a tapestry, an incense stick, a bowl, or perhaps peace and balance through meditation or the practice of yoga.
It’s time for all human beings to come together, regardless of our beliefs, from a place of deep gratitude to Mother India, and send love and strength. Let each of us contribute our grain of sand, our small diamond that emerges from the precious heart within us. Yes, yours too, you who are reading this. Send all your love and light, they need it; meditate for India, send your prayers, dedicate the fruit of your practices to Mother India… it’s time to give back all that we have received.
Anything helps, as long as it comes from the intention of the heart. You can help with a small donation, or in any way you feel, to any of the NGOs that are there, giving all their help and human warmth on the frontlines.
Thank you for adding your mustard seed.
India, thank you for so much; now it’s my turn… and all of ours.
Raju.
