January 1st | Life In Harmony India - NGO for Children, Education, and Healing

Hello, hello family!!

How was the start of 2025 for you all? Here at Shadev Shanti Ashram, the Indian counterpart of Life in Harmony in Gomta, we kicked off the year with a lot of movement!

On the weekend of the 11th-12th, we were in Rajkot, our reference city, which is about an hour away. There, we spent time with Chiragbhay, Ekta, and part of their family. They are the lawyers helping us with the legal aspects and everything that comes up, as they are wholeheartedly committed to collaborating with the project. It’s beautiful to see this Indian way of quickly embracing things from the heart—because once Chiragbhay got involved, his whole family joined in too (father, uncles, cousins…).

This past weekend, they came here to the Ashram, and we shared meals, yoga and meditation sessions, walks, and a visit to the coordinator of the families of our future children. During this visit, we spoke with a father whose five-year-old son will soon be joining us at the Ashram. We also had a meeting to discuss ongoing matters, including social media, finances, organizing a monthly yoga session in Rajkot to raise awareness of our project, and planning another full-day event at the Ashram.

Every Thursday and Sunday from 3 to 5 pm, we continue to hold yoga sessions with the village women. After a meeting on the 21st with the coordinators of government yoga classes in the city, they came to the Ashram the following Thursday to explain the Government Yoga Training Program for both men and women. This program consists of two months of training with 1.5-hour daily classes from Monday to Saturday. After completing it, participants will be able to teach yoga and receive a government salary.

We are also continuing our visits to local schools—so far, we’ve been to six. In these schools, we conduct yoga sessions and give talks, and it’s wonderful to see the students’ and teachers’ responses. They quickly connect with our explanations about the importance of a balanced life inside and out. We also offer Ashram support to any child who needs it to continue their education if that is their wish but they lack the resources.

As you can see, ever since we opened our doors, we’ve been actively engaged, and things are steadily growing—without rushing but without stopping. And all of this is thanks to your enthusiasm, love, and support. How beautiful it is to see dreams come true! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We send you a heartfelt hug!
